15 juni 2007, Trainingweek in the Alps;
bad weather, bivouacs and a nice route
There is no better training for climbing, than climbing itself. With this in mind, we travelled to Chamonix (France) to climb a number of nice routes. The weather however was everything but ideal. A lot of snow at high altitude, rain, thunderstorms and a very high isotherm (>3800 metres), interfered with out plans. After a day of 'íce-exercises' on the Mer-de-glace and some rock climbing in the valley, we decided to take the cable-car to the midi-plan station. So on monday afternoon, after a morning of heavy rains, we were looking up at our goal: the well-known Frendo Spur. Below a small visual impression.
